FOR PRIVATE PARTIES OF 6-10
'A Week-long Dinner Party'
Your party will be met
at its pre-arranged arrival point, and driven back to the Farmhouse for a champagne welcome. There
is plenty of time to unpack & settle in before the presentation
of the week's activities, an introductory Burgundy wine tasting and the
first of four magnificent in-house dinners
After breakfast we
will visit the beautifully preserved 12th Century Abbey of Fontenay and its well-tended
gardens. The Cistercians sought out peaceful locations suitable for
tranquil meditation – it is hard to imagine anywhere more perfect.
Lunch will be back at the house. In the evening, we will
visit the site of Alesia, and the panoramic vista where Julius Caesar
defeated the Gauls in 52BC.
Dinner in the neighboring hilltop village.
This morning we take a drive through beautiful countryside to Chablis to taste its famous white wines.
Lunch close by at a restaurant popular for its
local Burgundian dishes. On the way home is the pretty village half-timbered
medieval town of Noyers. Wine
tasting back at the Farmhouse before dinner.
Today we head to Dijon, home to the Dukes of Burgundy who in their time outshone the kings of France. Justly famous for its vast range of architectural influence, Dijon also has a fantastic produce market and excellent shopping. Lunch will be on your own.

We visit Vezelay this
morning: an important stop on the Campostello pilgrim path and a World Heritage Site.
Here, kings and knights mustered to be blessed by St. Bernard before the
disastrous second crusade. Lunch back at the house. This
afternoon we will visit nearby Semur-en-Auxois, a medieval fortress town full of charm and delightful vistas.
En route home, we'll stop for a stroll around the gardens of the
beautiful Chateau of Epoisses. Dinner in one of the area's gastronomic restaurants.
This morning we head to the C
ôte d’Or to visit Beaune and the most famous vineyards in the world. We'll visit the magnificent medieval Hospices and have time for a look around town. Lunch on your own. Afternoon visit to a small domain wine-maker to see up close the subtlety of Burgundy wine. Farewell dinner back at the Farmhouse.After breakfast, your group will be dropped off at your departure point.
